Synopsys announced that its DesignWare logic library, embedded memory, interface and analog IP for TSMC's 7nm process technology have been used in more than 250 design wins. Nearly 30 semiconductor manufacturers have chosen Synopsys. The 7nm DesignWare IP solution provides high-performance, low-power system-on-a-chip (SoCs) for mobile, cloud computing and automotive applications. DesignWare IP is widely adopted due to the success of multiple customer silicon designs. As a result, designers can be more confident in integrating IP and significantly reduce the risk of SoC integration.

The so-called design wins refers to the ICs required by the manufacturer and the customer to develop the client. If the R&D is successful, the business can be put into production. This is called design win.

Suk Lee, senior director of the TSMC Design and Construction Management Office, said that TSMC and Synopsys have worked closely on a number of processes, highlighting the commitment of both parties to providing IP to designers to help them solve critical design challenges and quickly enter mass production. As a senior partner of TSMC's ecosystem, Synopsys has been at the forefront of IP solutions. Synopsys' IP solutions for TSMC's industry-leading 7nm process technology meet the performance, power and chip area requirements of SoC deployments in AI, automotive and cloud computing applications.

John Koeter, vice president of IP marketing at Synopsys, points out that in order to meet the current AI workloads, video traffic, and the intensive operation of cloud and edge information, designers rely on Synopsys to provide the best in the most advanced high-performance FinFET process. Verified IP solution. DesignWare, which is used in TSMC's 7-nanometer process and verified by silicon crystals, has been widely validated by its customers, enabling designers to introduce differentiated products with less risk and speeding time-to-market.

The DesignWare IP portfolio currently used in TSMC's 7nm and 7nm Plus processes is available now.
